Copyright Policy

The Diyala Journal for Veterinary Sciences (DJVS) is committed to protecting the rights of authors while ensuring broad dissemination and accessibility of published articles. This policy clarifies the ownership, rights, and responsibilities associated with articles published in DJVS.

1. Copyright Ownership

  • Authors retain full copyright of their work upon publication. By submitting and publishing in DJVS, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive license to publish, distribute, and archive the work in both print and electronic formats. 

2. Author Rights

Authors are entitled to:

  • Retain copyright of their published articles.
  • Share the final published version for personal, academic, and non-commercial purposes.
  • Deposit the published article in institutional, professional, or personal repositories.
  • Include the article in theses, dissertations, books, or other scholarly works, with DJVS cited as the original publisher.

3. Journal Rights

Upon acceptance, DJVS reserves the right to:

  • Publish, distribute, and archive the article in any format.
  • Index the article in academic databases and repositories.
  • Maintain a permanent record in the journal’s archives.

4. Licensing Terms

All articles in DJVS are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license, which allows:

  • Copying, sharing, and adapting the work for non-commercial purposes.
  • Proper attribution to the author(s) and DJVS.
  • Clear indication of any modifications.
  • Commercial use only with prior written permission from both the author(s) and DJVS.

5. Plagiarism and Copyright Compliance

  • All submissions undergo plagiarism screening before peer review.
  • Manuscripts with more than 20% similarity (excluding references and common phrases) will be returned for revision or rejected.
  • Proven cases of plagiarism or copyright infringement after publication will result in article retraction and formal notification to the author’s institution.

6. Use of Published Material

Readers and third parties may:

  • Use DJVS content for educational, scholarly, and non-commercial purposes under the CC BY-NC 4.0 license.
  • Distribute and adapt content with proper credit to DJVS and the author(s).
  • Not use the content for commercial purposes without prior written consent.
